The Conference: how to create with fans and how to build on other people's work

On The Conference, under the heading Creation, three creators discussed how to create with fans and how to build on other people’s work.

The speakers
Creativity is as much a social activity as an individual one, and this is something that director HANNA SKÖLD (video embedded below) has learned through the distribution of her first independent film project Nasty Old People and in the development of her upcoming film Granny’s Dancing on the Table where fans of the Granniverse (the transmedia world embracing all things Granny!) help out in many different aspects.

The curator KIRBY FERGUSON (video embedded below) took the audience on a journey spanning back through centuries of western culture and illustrated how inventions are the products of copying, transforming and combining previous ones.

UNNI DROUGGE (video embedded below) has been experimenting with collaborative writing and this summer released a book written together with some of her fans.
