The Urban Explorations – Works & Words exhibition presents ongoing research by eight scholars in architecture, art, design and photography.

Exhibited works include Gating the Commons: A Swedish take on the Gated Community by Karin Grundström and In Xanadu: The Computerized Home of Tomorrow by Joshua Thorson.

The exhibition can be seen in Medea’s showroom on the ground floor of Niagara (Nordenskiöldsg. 1) until 3 February 2017.

Urban Explorations is a collaborative platform upon which a number of sub-projects in education and research are built. The aim of the platform is to collaborate towards reaching strategic goals of internationalization in education and research by developing the field of Urban Explorations. Works & Words is the first exhibition that shows works and words by scholars from both universities.

This exhibition was first held at the Community Design Center of Rochester in October 2016 and is now followed by a pop-up at Medea, Malmö University. It is supported by the partnership on internationalization between Malmö University and Rochester Institute of Technology (MURIT)

The exhibition is curated by Karin Grundström, Senior Lecturer in Architecture & Built Environment, Malmö University, Sweden; and Roberley Bell, Professor of Photography, Rochester Institute of Technology, US.
